This class is for those wishing to have a practice that is a bit slower paced than a flow class. You will move in and out of poses mindfully and be given cues to assist you in safe alignment and to receive the most benefit from the pose. Options will be given to allow you to let the pose suit your body vs making your body suit the pose. This allows you to receive the most from the poses based on your unique needs! This class requires the ability to easily move up/down unassisted from the floor.
Gentle Flow Yoga – If you like the movement of a Vinyasa Flow class, but the pace seems a bit too active, this class is perfect for you! We will still flow with a breath-centered connection, but at a pace a bit more mindful and yes, slower.
You will move in and out of poses gently and be given cues to assist you in safe alignment, then choose the option best suited for you so you receive the most benefit from the pose.
Options will be given to allow you to let the pose suit your body and then end class with a wonderful, relaxing and rejuvenating savasana! Sounds great, huh? Because it is! We look forward to seeing you in class!
Mindful Movement Yoga
This class is for those wishing to have a practice in a supportive community, but with personal attention and a personal experience. This mindfully based class will allow you to move in and out of poses mindfully and be given cues to assist you in safe alignment and to receive the most benefit from the pose.
Options will be given to allow you to let the pose suit your body vs making your body suit the pose - YOGA IS FOR EVERY BODY. This allows you to receive the most from the poses based on your unique needs!
Alignment Based Yoga
This class is intended to help you dig a bit deeper into the specific details of the alignment of a yoga poses. This class will be bit more challenging than a Level 2, but still accessible to most everyone. You will move with intention from pose to pose, holding each one a bit longer to feel your body in the pose and check-in with the instruction of the alignment points given. This is a great class for those who prefer more structure, and less ‘flow’ to their practice.
In Flow Yoga, we will connect breath to movement and each pose will flow from one pose into the next. This class will move at a slightly faster pace than a Level 2 class. You will be instructed to follow your bodies signals, understanding that each day is unique and our movement in that day will also be unique. Flow yoga allows you to have bit more freedom with your poses and give you a greater sense of your body’s movement in space.
Heated Active Flow Yoga
This class is a Flow style with the room temperature a bit warmer than usual, be prepared to move and to sweat! The warmer temperature allows the body to adapt more quickly to the movement and potentially get more deeply into poses as well as sweat out the toxins. This class is intended for yogis that have a steady practice and a strong understanding of the poses as we will move through them with less instruction on details.
Join us for this new unique and invigorating class! It will be set to up beat music and will get your heart pumping, your body stronger and more flexible. This class has it all - cardio, strength, stretch and stress release!
We'll incorporate elements of strength training, bursts of movement to get our heart rate elevated (don't worry, it will be low impact - yes, you'll be able to do it!), light weights (2, 3, 4 lb) to tone and strengthen our body and then dig into some yoga poses to stretch and open the body, then chill out in savasana to let stress melt away - all things that do the body good!
This will be a fun, lighthearted class, where we can encourage and uplift each other to be our best! And it's a great way to get ready for summer!
Mat Pilates/Core Conditioning
Never done pilates before, NO WORRIES! We will walk you through the exercises slowly so you can learn them step by step - Pilates isn't about quantity of movement, it's about CONTROL of movement, you will only do each exercise several times then move to the next one! It's a great compliment to other movement systems, as it teaches you to be connected to core stability and alignment to help better support other movement practices (such as weight training, yoga, and more)!
We look forward to seeing you on the mat!
Workshops & Events
These will be classes or workshops intended to address a specific topic or style more in depth than you would receive in a typical 1-hour class. Topics and class durations will vary based on the subject matter and the instructor’s choice. Watch schedule and Facebook and email for posts and updates on when these classes/workshops/events will be available. There will typically be several a month. Most of these classes will be a separate fee, not included in class passes or memberships.
Those new or newer to yoga will find this class helpful and a great place to start. We will take our time to explain the poses, cue for proper safe alignment and guide you through the fundamentals of a typical yoga class, which include (but is not limited too): breathwork, movement/poses, end with relaxation known as savasana. This class requires the ability to easily move up/down unassisted from the floor.
Restorative Yoga is done in smaller groups to allow for greater detail to attention to getting you set in the pose using a sufficient amounts of props and blankets to bring a deeper sense of comfort, allowing your body to relax, soften and release stress as you let sit back and relax held by the props. All you have to do is breathe!
Yin Yoga is a practice of long-held postures (not standing) designed to compliment the more Yang or Vinyasa/Flow style yoga practice. We hold postures for 3-5 minute intervals and relax the muscles. The Yin practice primarily targets the connective tissue and joints of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin Yoga is also a great aid for meditation postures. The practice begins with a brief warm-up followed by long holds in specific postures. The Yin Yoga practice is inclusive – all are welcome!
Yoga Nidra is also known as ‘yogic sleep’, the first half of the class is simple, easy movements (typically done laying on the floor) to help eliminate any restlessness and allow you to settle into the second half of the class which is a long, guided relaxation session. The guided relaxation session allows for one to slip into a very deep state of relaxation (yogic sleep) but you are typically still aware of your senses. It has been said the level of relaxation accomplished in Yoga Nidra is equal to deep REM sleep. This is a great class to counter the stresses of a busy life style or the more vigorous/active yoga classes!
